Top foil and vertical foils create 3 terminal mounting zones than can accept SOT-23 packages, Leds, 3-4 mm Trimmers, and many other 3 terminal devices.  Vertical foils accept 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210, Mini-Melf, smaller electrolytic and tantalums, inductors, and other devices. Larger devices can be straddle mounted across zones.
